Advice/ opinions on catalytic converter removal

I have had some rust issues on my exhaust and havent gotten around to fixing them for a while. My muffler fell off and my first cat on the passenger side broke off at the pipe. I dont really want to pour thousands of dollars into this. I was wondering the consequences of running straight pipes into a muffler with no cats. Will this decrease gas mileage, and bog down the truck even more with no backpressure?

I think you will fail inspection, unless you know someone.

I doubt you will notice a difference in power or MPG's. As long as you keep the same pipe length as before the back pressure difference will be minimal
