95 Ranger - Factory looking aux switch panel
Wanted to install LED light bars, but there was no place for switches. While in a pull a part I found that the later models had a storage pocket and airbag delete switch in place of the ashtray. Part number YL5X-10117A72. It consists of a top and bottom portion - be sure to get both halves. The top portion bolts in to where the ashtray assembly was (will have to re-drill one hole to line up the mounting screw.) The mounting hole seen in the photo below is about an inch too far to the right. The screw holes closest to the firewall line right up.
I measured the opening, and then shopped for a switch panel that would fit - Available on Amazon.
The company allows you to customize which switches you want included. It can be wired so the lettering illuminates with your headlights, while the icon lights up when the switch is on.
The maximum available space for the plate on the inside of the opening is about where the mounting holes were - leaving plenty of "flange" to mount the panel on the opening. I used a dremel to trim it down, test fitting so as not to trim away too much.

I had some scrap plastic strips to use, and just superglued them in place.
Fit switchplate and glue strips to hold it in.
Optional power port
I sanded the face to get rid of the airbag switch lettering, and then painted the face to match.
