90 looking like newer

90 looking like newer
Just throwing out the idea, probably has been done but i have a 90 ranger that i am going to be customizing. First idea probably the hardest but think it could be done. taking the front end off and sticking a newer front end on so its not so square. also thinking of taking out about inch or two off the fenders just behind the wheels so i can tuck few sizes bigger under it but still keeping with smaller lift. If that made since. Putting a 302 in it right now.

easiest to do glass like McNeil Racing: Flared Off Road Fiberglass Fenders, Bedsides, One Piece Front Ends, Bodies and Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass Dashes but you can weld and graph on other light bucket and core suports and get newer styles on.

so if i got this right, you wanna take a new front clip (i'm assuming mid to late 90s or newer) and put it on the boxy style of the 90's cab and bed. correct? if so your lines won't line up and it would look like garbage.
if you mean just replacing the fenders with new ones and a new grill, go for it.
as for the chopping of the wheelwells, i'm not getting what you mean. you say you wanna cut the area behind the wheelwell but then you'd have eggshaped wheelwells.

well my thoughts or ideas dont always make sense or come true but with the front end yes i was thinking newer like 2000s. i havent really looked to hard into it as far as measurement but just looking at it newer rangers have the same line so i dont see why you couldnt get them lined up..maybe im just thinking crazy ya but it would be cool.
as for the wheel wells what im saying is on my truck i have 33s if you turn sharp they rub at the back part of the wheel well as for the front towards the bumper i have plenty of space to put a bigger tire so if i where to go from right in the middle of the wheel well where its straight and cut up past the flare then back towards the bed just past the end of the wheel well. then after that chuck is taken out go back to the fender and cut inch or two that runs vertical on the fender then basicly weld back the chuck i took out and add the inch or two to the middle of the wheel well were i first cut. so basicly i would be making the wheel well wider and still having factory looking fender flares instead of just hacking away at the corner of them. Did that make any more since? haha probably not. maybe i will try drawing it out.

i'd just add new fenders and grill from your year. the body lines won't line up and the doors are different. newer ones are curved more then yours. as for the fender triming, why not just cut half an inch to an inch around the whole wheelwell? no rewelding or anything. just a clean cut to make your wheelwell opening larger.

ya i probably wont do anything to the front end.. I like the fender flares if i cut inch or two off all around then the fender will start to come out then just end and you can always tell its not factory when u start hacking it like that. who knows just some ideas probably wont do anything. still need to finish the 302 project.
