No it won't, for sure
And there was never a 2.3l Duratec 4WD transmission made

If you have a manual trans, M5R1, you can get the output shaft and tail shaft housing from a 4x4 M5R1 transmission, i.e. from a 3.0l or 4.0l M5R1, and change your 2WD 2.3l manual to a 4x4 manual

If automatic, 5R44E, you need a full disassembly to replace main shaft with the shorter 4x4 main shaft and the 4x4 tail shaft housing from a 4x4 5R44E
But............you may be able to disassemble a 3.0l 4x4 automatic and swap over your 2.3l bell housing, not sure on this one

You could also look at "divorced transfer case" installs, this involves some custom parts
You make a short custom drive shaft to connect 2WD trans output shaft to transfer case's input shaft, then custom rear drive shaft and front drive shaft
Also custom bracket to hold transfer case as it is farther back in the frame

Thanks for that info. It confirms what I've found other places in bits and pieces. I have a standard so I'll look for a doner truck with the same trans so I get everything I need.

Using the 2008 2.3l computer you won't have correct speed in 4low, not that its a big deal just an FYI, 4x4 computers 2001 and up calibrated speedometer change when in 4low

Did find this article: https://www.therangerstation.com/for...ersion.182827/

I didn't think it required a full disassembly on a manual conversion, but looks like it does?
