Windscreen blurry
Hi, looking for advice, have my ranger from new since may. Periodically the Windscreen blurs, usually say 30 minutes into a 2 hour trip, it will last 10 minutes or so then clear.
The air is on but no changes have been made all journey. The weather is in 20°c, and no other buttons pressed in this time. Thought it was me at first, bit then when wifey wad on board she saw it too. Any ideas, I thought it might be heated screen, but nothing comes on to indicate it's on nor does any lights show up anywhere. Cheers Paul

Welcome to the forum
2021 Ranger, good to include that in future posts
Reads like the AC(air conditioning) drain may not be working like it should
AC is on all the time even when controls are not on AC
AC evaporator "dries" the incoming air, and that condensed water drips off evaporator onto a tray and then drips out onto the ground from a hose in the firewall
That's the water that you see dripping out just behind right front wheel on almost every vehicle these days, because most have AC
The blurriness is most likely moisture coming up thru defrost vents, defrost vent is often cycled regardless of climate control setting just to keep moisture off the windscreen, but its having the opposite effect in your case
Next blurry event run your finger on the glass and see if its moisture on the inside of the glass
I don't recall reading about this before but it may be a "known" issue, a Ford Dealer shop would know

Same issue
I have the exact same issue 2021 Ranger had it from new issue started after two weeks or so does it randomly no fixed pattern dealer claim to never have heard of it before and say they cannot diagnose until the problem exists while they have the vehicle which is almost impossible
Really annoying as it makes you feel sick eventually

At one year old took it to local dealer for annual maintenance check and drop oil out. Explained issue several times to several people, who all thought I was talking twaddle. Luckily after examination they could see a fault in the screen itself, in its manufacturing, in the lamination. It could only be seen looking outside to in at an angle. They have swapped the screen for a new one, and all is good

The explanation to me as to why it clears after 10 mins or so, was heat from engine warms up screen which opens up the gap and causes blurriness, then cools again and so is fine after that. Sounds rubbish to me, the problem was there no matter the temperature outside or in. Ie it did it in hot summer or cold winter

Blurry screen
Hi, did you get a resolve for this issue ? Mine does the same. It’s 14 months old and have had issue after issue and the screen being the latest. Mine happens 20 to 30 mins into a journey and can only stop it by pulling up and turning off the engine and starting it back up again. It’s been in to Ford and they have fitted a new windscreen but issue is still there !! Thanks.

It’s an electrical issue somewhere. Mine does it. It can happen a few 15 mins into a drive or it might not happen for a hundred miles. The screen goes from being a clear view to a distorted view, if you look at the car in front it looks like it is vibrating and you can’t read the reg plate as it wobbles. If I stop the vehicle and turn the power off and back on again it is fine, sometimes it will do it again. Thanks.

Hi, have you had a resolve for this issue ? My 21 plate is the same. I’ve been in and out of ford 11 times now with different issues. There is a common fault on the ranger where a grommet falls out under the tub at the back causing wires to rub and corrode. I’ve just had a new loom fitted after 13 months from new. My usb sockets have been replaced twice and still don’t work. The screen is the most annoying though.

Does have said it’s a characteristic of the Ranger. This means they can’t accept it as a fault as they would be inundated with repairs of which they don’t have a solution. The manager at Ford’s kept my vehicle for a week and he said he didn’t know how I could drive it like that and would speak to higher up to get it sorted but they won’t accept it’s a fault so nothing done. Got rid now.
