New to this forum.

Good morning,
I have had a couple Ford Rangers (88 GT, 90 Custom, and now an 02 Edge) so I figured I would join the forum and see how helpful members are here. In the past, I have done many DIY threads on other forums and I am hoping to contribute to this one. I currently own a 2002 Ford Edge 4x4, 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum, and a Mazda 3 Hatchback Sport Grand Touring 2.5L. Maintaining my cars is weekly hobby as I love to keep my cars looking and performing like new. I perform and log all the maintenance, hand wash and hand wax, and detail the interior monthly. Helps keep me busy. Then I have my sons 2006 Toyota Corolla and my daughters 2020 Kia SOL to tinker with.

I have been lurking here for a few months now since I just bought a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge 4x4 Auto, 4.0 V6 SOHC. The downfall, it only came with one PATS key. I recently order 2 additional Ford OEM keys and I now am hopefully hoping to find a member locally that can help me erase and program new keys into the PATS.

Looking for a member with Forscan in the Tacoma WA area.
Please to meet all of you
Jim

Thank you. I appreciate that and we are loving the Edge so far. Previous owner took good care of it. It really will only be used for going to the dump and getting stuff from Lowes or Home Depot.

Local Locksmith can cut and add keys to your vehicle

They can also CLONE a working key, they cut a BLANK PATS key(it has no PATS number its blank) to match your lock, then READ the PATS number off the working key, RFID Tag reader
Then they program/write that same number to the blank key
So as far as your vehicle PATS system is concerned these are the same keys
There is no downside to Cloned keys, it works the same as original keys, it just can't be used as a "second key" if you want to add a 3rd or 4th key yourself
And its probably least expensive way to have a spare PATS key

Thank you for the response. I am not to sure about cloning the keys because I do want the ability to program a 3rd or 4th key. I will be working with a new ELM device this week so hopefully I can get FORScan to work for me.
Thanks again.
