New Guy, old Ranger

New Guy, old Ranger
Good Morning,
My work car decided it was about to throw a rod so I've now replaced it with a 1996 Ranger 4x2 2.3L 5 speed. I think I've owned almost every brand of truck, last Ford was 16yrs ago. Recently it's been Toyota's which I still own. Been lurking here for a few days looking for fixes plaguing the Ranger, odometer not working, dome light won't shut off and found the knowledge here to be great. Many thanks to all that contribute. The Ranger runs and drives great and hopefully the gas mileage will be close to what the dead car was getting. So far I like this truck.

Thanks Gerry. Not a bad 20 yr old truck, I searched for about 5wks. The Tacoma is real thirsty on fuel and I needed something to replace the dying Camry. The Ranger seemed to be the best economical choice. So far I'm pleased. Thanks to this forum the dome light is now working as it should. Now it's on to the odometer and it looks like there is an issue with the brakes. Its an old truck that needs some TLC and figured that when I bought it.

Thanks, I've been driving it for 3 weeks now. I do like it, slowly taking care of issues of a 20yr old truck. Brakes are next!
