2 Days new - Canada West
Hello everybody - my name is Richard, I have owned a B2300 for two days now. I got a killer deal, 2007 2WD 2.3 141000km (88000miles), short cab (nothing behind seat, 6ft box -
The not so good: heavy cosmetic damage to drivers side rear bed panel, Complete mish mash of tires, one tail light totaled, the front bumper is misaligned -
The good: Brakes & steering great, the engine purs like a sewing machine - has to be one of the nicest sounding car/truck engine I have owned.
The absolutely bloody terrible: It's almost impossible to lie down in :)
My passion is street bikes, but these Rangers/B2300's have an almost cult following among Islanders on Canada's west coast. I saw mine for sale and I thought that I just couldn't lose - thank for having me.
other than that it is great :) $2500 CAN ($1830US)
One day I will have something to offer, but for now I know pretty much nothing other than they are meant to be good veicles

Welcome to the forum
Rangers/B-series used the Lima 2.3l SOHC engine 1983 thru 1997
In mid-2001 they got the 2.3l Duratec DOHC engine, totally different engine, used thru 2011, last year for these Rangers/B-series
Just letting you know in case Searches turn up odd info on B2300 or Ranger 2.3l
2007 will have Digital Dash(HEC) and PATS(passive anti-theft system)
PATS requires "transponder keys"
There is a THEFT Light on the dash, with key off it flashes every 5 to 10 seconds
With Key on, THEFT light comes on, then PATS reads the unique "number" from the key, if that "number" is in its memory then Theft Light goes off, and engine can be started
If there is a problem THEFT light will start to flash rapidly and engine can not be started, no bypass for this, vehicle can be towed or PATS repaired where it sits
So its good to have at least one spare working PATS key
If you only got 1 working key with the vehicle then a CLONE key is the least expensive way to make a spare key
A locksmith can cut a Blank PATS key using your working key, then READ the "number" from that key and WRITE that same "number" to the Blank PATS key
So same as copying a key, but called cloning because of the extra step needed in the READING/WRITING part
