Took Carpet out...Replace with???

I had to take the carpet out of my 93 yesterday...it just got to the point where it just smelled like mildew. Plus, the carpet was beyond being able to clean it. So, I thought of two thing, one, replace it with the rubber type mat that came in my 04. Two, Line-x/herculiner(I think Herculiner will be ok, since its the interior) the interior, but I have some questions...What did/do you do with the wires that run under the carpet?? Do/did you just leave them/move them??

Pics would be great...Thanks!!!

I am in the same boat that you are. I want to coat my floor with some kind of liner but don't know about those wires. So I think I am just going to get the rubber floor.

I still havnt done anything, but I think I'm going to hurculiner it and then add the rubber. I figure the herculiner will knock the road noise down a notch. Going to do it tomorrow, so pics will be taken and posted.

On my old '84 (before I plowed into a tree), I had the JC Whitnet rubber floor in it. It was just fine and cheap. And since I was doing this all myself, I put in lots of floor insulation. This made it quieter and warmer.

Bed liner, if you beat it up off road. Otherwise the rubber/vinyl floor.

I have the rubber mat in mine and hate it... Every day driving carpet is easier to keep clean than the mat....

If you track a bunch of mud into your truck than the mat is better, otherwise stick with carpet.

Get floormats and problem is solved! Its like the best of both worlds.

just throw down some gravel in there, then you wouldnt have to worry tracking in dirt and mud, when you do just get the rake out and rake it around. you could get the hand held rake and leave it the glovebox.

no id go with the vinyl flooring like i got in my EDGE, its real easy to clean
