Re-wrapped my center console lid

I finally had enough of looking at the old dirty and ripping fabric on my console lid and decided to re-wrap it. Theres a how to on how to remove the lid. Basically its four screws under the fabric inside the cosole to take out the bin and four more under the fabric on the lid to remove the plastic tray.I went out to a fabric store and picked up some grey vinyl on a clearance rack for like 3 bucks for a yard. I cut a piece and used some spray adhesive to glue it to the foam padding. My brother gave me a hand stretching out the vinly and wrapping it around as I stapled it in with some 1/4" staples. It wasnt really hard to do, but getting it stretched so tight as to see no seems on the corners was tetious. All in all Im happy with it and I think it looks great. The grey is a shade or too off, but as a whole it doesnt stick out much.

Looks much better! Glad you went away from cloth on those lids, it's so hard to clean!

Looks good, did you use a heat gun to help stretch?

Yeah, I used a hairdryer to heat the corners up while stretching it.

I'll ask my brother to send me the link of the how-to I used. I can't find it.
Its pretty easy though. Basically you have to tear back the corners of the felt that is on the bottom of the inside of the console. There is a screw in each corner. That will allow you to take out the whole bin that sits inside the console which will allow you to access the screws that hold the hinge of the lid into the console. Unscrew those and the lid will come off. In order to take the piece of plastic that is holding my CDs in the picture you have to once again tear away the four corners of the felt on the outside of it to reveal a screw in each corner.
