Opinion on Expo Seats and full length console?

I went to a junk yard today to look for a few items. I found a lot of explorers, and a few sets of nice seats. One set caught my eye tho. It was grey leather power buckets, no tears, in good shape, just a little dirty. The full length center console was in decent shape too, pretty dirty, and the lid is torn up pretty good. I asked how much they wanted for em... they said $350 and my jaw dropped.

My question is? What did you guys pay for your buckets and consoles? Would you pay $350 for the full set?

Here is a really bad iphone picture, but you can get the general idea and you can kind of see where the tear is on the lid to the console.

highway robbery! i have a yard i can get pairs of buckets for less than $50 regardless of leather, cloth, power or not. i think $100 for the lot would be decent.

Yea i thought so too. I was thinkin they would want $150-$200 for the seats and maybe $45 for the console. My friend was looking at a 92 f250 bed... They told him $550 without the tailgate or tail lights. Sucks tho cuz they are a truck only yard and they had tons of explorers with decent seats and a few good shorty and full length consoles. I dont need it that bad i guess.

I've had 3 sets of seats.. in my 2000 2wd I had those ones in the pic, paid $40 for both seats, power leather - the works... Second set, went in my truck I have now and paid $150 for the darker colored power leather sets... Took those out for some newer seats of the same style, just newer for $90 for both seats... Talk em down, gotta remember they're not making them any money sitting out there. That's what I always bring up. And bring cash lol

Yea, I don't think the guy knew that I came to play. I had $500 cash in my pocket, but I think he thinks cuz I'm in the military and this place is close to base, that I am stupid and will pay that much. I told him I would think about them, and maybe come back. I might call tomorrow and try that angle tho, thanks guys.

$150 max for the seats (set) and that is IF they work, make sure to chk them out electrically, and if the leather can be cleaned up.

Full Console, not sure but some short consoles in a local JY were selling for $25-50, with damaged covers but in good shape otherwise.

Me if all is good I would say no more than $200 for all.

Yea, I was thinking if the console had a good lid, which I found one that does... I might give them $200 if the power works, the leather cleans up, and I don't find any holes that I might have missed, and they throw in the good lid for the console.

Sounds like a plan.
Remember, they own it, if you want it you may need to move a little on the price.

Luck

I noticed your in California, I don't know if it is the economy out here but seems junkyard prices are going up.
I was at my local pick a part looking for a window regulator found a nice one didn't need the motor so I took it off and when I went to pay they asked if it was manual or power with the motor off I told them manual.
They said $55.00 I asked how much for a power one they said $75.00. I told them I can buy a new one for less so why would I pay him more for something that is used his attitude was take it or leave it, so I did and left.

The prices out here at junk yards are ridiculous. I paid $48 for an a/c line and $38 for an e-fan, which i could have gotten in indiana for half that price probly

Yea i could do that, but my seats aren't very comfortable, and i wanted the power. They'd probly want $100 for just the console anyway

Yea, midwest is a lot different than where i live. They charge a lot more for stuff here. Plus being a military town they do their best to screw over young service members, some of us are wise enough to know better.

Agreed... that's why they are still sitting in the explorer at the junk yard. And they will continue to sit there until he becomes more reasonable :)

$150 - $200 for everything would be pretty reasonable.
