New Center Console and Other Goodies!!!!!!

I started on this about a week ago, between working my regular job, the mustang, and now this, I am trying to kill myself I do believe. One of my buddies bought a center console for a 2006 exploder. He decided that it was going to be too much work for him to install it in his truck....... My brain started working, I told him I wanted to see how it fits in my truck. We pulled my console out(all of that hard work I just put into it and the switch box) to test fit it. I really like it, but I have lots to do for it to look good. While in the process of fabbing it up, I had another idea. Anyone seen this done????

The day I got it:

The test fit:

A little fabbing:

Test fitting:

A lil welding:

Uh Oh, What is that???:

A lil color change:

I should have wiped the dust off of these first:

Makin a lil headway:

I still have a bunch to do, but I personally think it is coming along great!!!

Oh yea, Here are a few of her in the sun:

Enjoy!

I would NOT recommend anyone trying to install a shifter like this unless you have a lot of patience, experience fabricating, and another vehicle to drive! I do not have the column shifter anymore. It is easy to remove the lever, but you have to re-wire the overdrive switch. This has taken a lot of hard work and effort to get it this far.

making the mounting brackets and such is no biggie. and i like messing with electrical stuff for the most part, if cant figure it out i got ppl that will help.
about how long did the install take you? id rather have a ratchet shifter instead of a column and once i buy a bike ill prob attempt this lol.
hows it feel to shift on the floor instead of the column? only truck ive drove with a ratchet shifter was a s10 show truck and it was the type you slam into each gear without going into neutral or reverse without lifting the safety

Yeah, I'm hatin alright..

I'm saying I'm not for people putting badges on stuff that didn't come from the factory that way. I'm not calling him a ricer and I know what the truck is capable of, but it still doesn't mean that the truck is a SVT. It's a badass truck, but I'm a stickler for things like that. I'll wait for the hate responses that I get for not replying with nothing but praise.
