need a wiring diagram for 07 instrument cluster
hey guys, i just spent the past hour reading through a bunch of search results with no luck.
Just wondering if anyone would have a wiring diagram for the instrument cluster for an 07 ranger sport supercab 4.0L 4x4 AT.
I'm looking to build a digital dash, and have rounded up all my digital guages, have my layout all planned. Now just figuring out how to move/display my OEM digital odometer/trip and the cable activated gear indicator. I need a wiring diagram so i can figure out what to connect to each guage.

Or if anyone knows
*what colour wire is coming from vehicle speed sensor to ecu?
*what colour wire is coming from ecu to fuse box?
*what colour wire is coming from fuse box to instrument cluster?
and where does the voltage travel after it’s been through the digital kilometre counter?
Is it to earth or back to the ecu ?
this is for a 2007 ford ranger

2004 and up Rangers use a full digital cluster, called HEC
Google: Ford HEC test mode
Because of this you can't swap cluster in Rangers, 2004-2011, only a Ford Dealer can and they can't do it directly, they need to get one from Ford as needed
2004-2011 Rangers don't have a VSS, they use OSS(output shaft speed) sensor on the transmission tail shaft, there is a yellow/orange stripe wire to pin 3 on PCM(computer) from OSS
2 purple/white stripe wires power up PCM(35/36) with key on, from PCM Relay in engine fuse box is the source of the 12volts
Fuses 9(purple./gray), 10(yellow/orange), and 33(red) in cab fuse box power the cluster
PCM and HEC cluster "talk" via CAN Bus network, which is similar to home computer network, not simple analog gauges any more
Digital odometer reading is stored in the HEC cluster memory, and with key on it is checked against PCMs odometer reading if they don't match vehicle will not start
This was added to prevent odometer tampering, which was common on older Rangers, with key on the PCM and HEC do a "handshake" using RSA encryption, they must recognize each other or no start, and then compare data, if no match then no start
This is why only a Ford Dealer can change HEC Cluster, Ford must program new cluster to match PCM or vehicle won't run, and then new cluster must be "married" to the PCM(matched RSA encryption)

I beg to differ, explain this..

—-ok, so yea, sounds all educated like from a book but then tell me why and how my 2008 ford ranger 4.0 sohc 4x4 worked and has been flawlessly for years up until the dern vss wiring screwed up a bit ago.. i totally swapped clusters with one that even has different warning light locations.. the cruise ctrl light is not in the same location however the cruise ctrl still works on the steering wheel but the light doest light up.. the odometer automatically updated to the same milage it had on the old cluster. Only reason i changed it out is because i messed up n broke the gauge needle trying to swap needles.. so got one for 35$ that looked the same but said was out of a edge.. all other warning lights work and are rightly indicating what they should.. after 4 years or more the speedo would just not work on some startups but then just stopped all together.. weird things are though that no CEL, gauge cluster test shows all gauges/lights work, but data from ecm says front two wheel speeds are working but a 0 from vss/oss.. BUT get this, the odometer has stayed on but is not going up.. i have driven over 150 miles without a speedo and not a mile has added nor a cel except a passenger air bag light circuit short fault where i changed it to an led.. still works ant lights up if weight is in seat n goes off when not but still getting cell with or without resistance added.. But back to the topic, why hasent mine done anything as far as lock me out or throw a cel or shift funky like everybody elses does when the vss goes out or when they change clusters?? I have never brought my truck to a dealership and have done all work myself.. once i even accidentally set a value multiplier to 5 instead of .5 and told the computer to push , what 500 times more fuel through the injectors.. instantly killed the motor, fuel pump, a few of the injectoRs burnt out and it used up a quarter tank of gas in a half a second.. no lie, just being dumb with a laptop and messing with as built data.. but fixed the stuff and works fine still..
anywho whatever hec your talking about the ferd dealership hasent touched mine and works like a charm.. all ive done to the ecu is put a superchips flash pak tune on it and changed some random things via forscan...
