Mustang Domelight LEDs

I know a couple of you guys have swapped in LEDs for the Mustang domelights but is there anyway to have the 2 map lights use LED bulbs as well? Can someone link to where I can purchase the main LED bulb and the map light ones if they exsist. Thanks a lot!

Kind of a thread hack......How do you like your mustang dome light? Do the map lights actually aim where they should be?? I've had an Expo light since the day I bought my truck....just doesn't aim in the right spot.

I love it, it looks so much better then the Explorer in my opinion. I have a Explorer one too and its just to big. From what i've seen the map lights aim right, i'll check again next time i'm in the truck and let you know.

Nope, all you do is unscrew the one you have now and screw in the Mustang domelight, on 04+ you have to run a new wire, but you dont have to worry about it. Dirtboardforlife actually has 2 for sale right now.

i think my exploder domelight aims just right.. not trying to start an argument but looking at the mustang lights it seems like it would just shoot straight down onto the back of the seats.. i'll have to check yours out at the meet trent

yeah mine shoots it down about right on the steering wheel, so its about perfect for a map light.

i've seen the bulbs on ebay for the dome light bulb, but i havent seen any for the map lights tho.

So all 3 bulbs in the domelight are the same size, i thought the middle bulb that comes on when you open the door was a different size.

i dunno about the bulb size, its not a 194 tho. There are three tubes. I went to autozone ( my first mistake) and bought a colored blue tube bulb. I put it in the dome light (center bulb) and it started smoking from the roof. Im assuming that the bulb pulled to much juice or something.

i just found out that superbrightleds.com has the tube leds. dunno if they would fit in the map lights, but the dome would work.

If you find any more out about leds let me know I just picked up a Mustang dome light from hotrod88 and if I can get leds for it before I install it that would be great. I want red ones so they don't take away my night sight....

but if u want the brightness u cant buy a single 194 bulb...they r not bright enough. u need a "cluster" in each one like this
