Well obviously or I would not be posting here... They are red inserts with the alumnium/ silver outer areas... I want to paint the silver part red... Is this safe? Anyone done it? I do not want my foot to slip off due to slick footing!! (that would suck....)

I dont know why it wouldnt be safe. The only problem would be not rubbing off the paint with your shoes. What kind of paint do you plan on using?

What ever is not slippery LOL... Prob rustoleum or similar. I do not mind needing to "dress" them up ever so often.... The ones I have have plates in the 4 corners.. It looks like I will need to get longer screws but they are just machine screws. I do not have them in the truck yet, just the car..(got two sets)

I say for the ones on the truck go to a rhino liner place and have them spray RED rhino lining on there. They will be red, non slippery, and you wont have to touch them up.

I say rhino liner but it is whatever company that uses the color matched liner. i think its rhino liner but it may be a different company.

I got a set that dont look rice. They look good i think. And the gas pedal i needed to get longer screws b/c it is not like a car's gas pedal. then i had to trim them a bit b/c they were hitting the floor. all is well now. the edge of the brake pedal one is fading a bit from sliding my foot from the brake to the gas and vise versa. But the actual center part is not slippery. I dont recal the edge being slippery either.

Definatly get the powder coated if you want to paint them. I don't know any spray paint that will hold up to the beating they will take there. Especially if its a manual, you'll wear the paint off the clutch very quickly!

The paint will probably come off after a while, but it shouldn't cause any saftey issues. I'd be more concerned about keeping the pedals secured. My truck had "racing" pedals on it when I got it...I managed to knock one part way off. I ditched them for stock pads after a week.
