Icon14 the fix for the ever problemed center console cracking

here are the instructions i used and not much to add but a couple of hick ups lol

part# arm100 from rockauto.com

removed the old pin and trash the old composite unit

one of two issues i did have was the bolts where not long enough to reach the nylon threads but a easy fix with some 1/2 inch longer bolts i had laying around

2nd issue was the back needed a few light taps with a hammer to form up to the armrest again no big deal

a couple of screws and installed

Are you able to use the factory black screws to secure the pad to the metal? Or...? If not, I'll just paint the screw heads black with some model paint. lol.

Really appreciate the good pics. I've had my two armrests here taken apart comparing to pics and such figuring out exactly how this replacement is. Before these pics, I was a little skeptical because it looked like the padded lid is what actually contacts that raised base thing(right where the cracks start). But now, I see it's about an inch of metal that overlaps the plastic raised base thing. lol. I think I may miss having my flashlight mount under it being countersunk, but no biggie. Again, thank you. And this thread is stuck!

I just broke down and read the post, decided I should get one, since I will be getting the console shortly and thought there has to be others in my spot so I posted.

I wonder how many there are that still need this mod to the console ?

I need to fix mine. The arm rest is all lumpy because it's broken on the inside.

How about this, anyone that really wants to but this Cntr Console upgrade let me know.
E-Mail: nnf000@gmail.com
I will make a list and once we get 5 or so, maybe 10 I will contact RackAuto and see what they will do.

Any takers ?

Gonna have to get my Grandma one for her 99 Exploder. Armrest has been gone for years. Never put another one in because it would just end up breaking too.
