fiberglass door panels?

If I put fiberglass resin on my dash and door panels without using any fleece, could I still sand it and paint them? or would it crack and not last long? I dont know anything about fiberglass other than watching my buddy do a speakerbox for his mustang. Thinking about something cheap to do to make my interior shine and practice painting at the same time. Im thinking about using a little fleece to change the design of the stock door panels and dash a little...but not much, mostly around the speakers.

i tried putting resin on some ranger plastic and it peeled right off. if you want the smooth, painted look, just use a few coats of high build primer to fill in the texture, wet sand it smooth, and paint it. fiberglassed look without fiberglassing.

Fiberglass does NOT stick to plastic... you would either have to make a mold or drill a bunch of individual little holes so the glass can seep throu and have something to hold onto

Thanks guys....Looks like Imma have to wrap the whole thing in fleece if I want to change the look the way I want it...Think I'll hit up the JY and pic up some doorpanels to try it on. Think I'll just do the dash like you said drppdyllwrngr.

Bondo sticks to plastic though right? Ive got a bunch of random holes from where stuff has been mounted over the years and a couple cracks in the dash.
