Center Console Build
I was bored today and i was looking at my console in my truck and it is just 2 plain. I was thinking about redoing it. I was thinking maybe doing the sides out of plexiglass and putting fiber glass on top and paint the top black and put LEDs on the inside to light it up at night. There will also be a 5.25 speaker in it. Here is the design i thought of. Tell me what you think.
The 2 smaller holes are cup holders and the bigger hole is for the 5.25 speaker.

The console i have now is the stock one that came with the truck. I already had the speaker there, im just making a new console because this one is boring and i wanted to make the speaker and console into one piece. Heres a few pics of what i have so far. The oval and rectangle will be cut out and plexiglass is going over and ima put ford in the oval and have it light up with the leds. Tell me what you think.

Heres a few more pics of my progress on my console. Basically all i have left is put fleece on it, fiberglass it, paint it and get the plexiglass. I hope it looks good. How does it look so far.
I no the speaker is not in the middle but i kind of wanted to one side. LOL I dont know why though.

you probably didnt mix enough MEKP (hardener) with the resin and/or its under the required temp. for it to harden. whats the tempature were your at?
if its colder, mix a little bit more hardener with your resin to make a "HOT" batch, but not to much or it will warp.
also it depeneds on what brand of resin your using, if your using BONDO brand, its crap! it will get you through, but is no were near US Composites BF-440
what are your plans for your final prep before painting? ive seen your thread over at fiberglassforums.com , search for "milk shake" and it will give you the best and easiest way to finish you consol. ive been a member there for quite a while and follow every single instructions and advise those guys give, just like i do here.
it looks good so far, ive been planning on doing one my self, but just havening the sub fire back wards in to the back seats and mounting the amp under the front passenger seat
how much cu.ft is your sub requiring? and how much do have? it looks to me you might be a little shy on cu.ft, but i dont know your subs specs
if you need any help let me know ill be glad to give some advice
