Can you change the color of the instrument cluster lights?

99 Ranger SuperCab
I need to replace some lights (going to replace all) and wondered if there were some after market lights that would make my dash different than the standard Ford green.

Does anyone know of any? They are the twist/turn-in type with the plastic handle/stub.

Thanks!

Hopefully they have different colors - red or blue would be cool.
You don't happen to know the size of the little ones too do you?

I used red for the lines and HVAC controls and then used red leds for the headlight switch, 4x4 switch. fog light switches, My numbers on the gauges is actually a yellow sharpie but for some reason it made a color between yellow and orange.

BTW I would recommend going to the junkyard and getting a spare set of face plates off a Ranger there just in case you mess up.

Here is what blue looks like. I sanded the backs of the gauges but did not paint them just left them clear, and then I used blue leds. Let me know if you need more info.

I just recently replaced my dash lights and had the same problem. To reset the oil pressure, engine temp and battery you turn the key without turning the truck on and zero them. For the fuel gauge refill the tank to full and then set the needle on full when running. To reset the speedometer and tachometer turn the truck on and zero them (BE SURE NOT TO PUT THEM ON TOO HARD. LOOSELY WILL DO.). Hope this helps.

cleaning instrumnt cluster

I have a '99 super cab 3.0 5spd. Anyone know if the lens of the cluster is removable? It is really dirty inside, didn't want to go through the drill of dismantling the dash if I can't get inside the speedo/gage unit.

I replaced my cluster bulbs with LEDs from superbrightleds.com. I was going to go with red or blue, but my model(2003 Edge) has green tinting on the cluster, which I was not interested in scraping off. To do that, you need to take apart the entire cluster. So I just got white LEDs, which worked great and looked awesome but started to get loose in their pockets, I should have added some dielectric grease or something. I'll know that for next time, I'm planning on getting those bulbs from my 03 and putting them in my 99.

Did you ever change the color? I have a 02 Edge and wanted to change the bulbs to Red LEDs to match the truck.

Yes, I did. I ended up putting white LEDs in. With the green backing, it's super bright and looks great. I didn't want to bother with scraping the green backing off, so I stuck with white.
