animal leathers?

I need to reupholster the lid for my new explorer console ( thanks chance) and I need something durable.

since it's also gonna be somewhat of a focal point of the trucks interior, I was considering going with some sort of leather like Ostrich, gator, snake, stingray..etc.

Anyone know a good place to get pelts/ leathers like this? I tried googling and all the results I could get were wallets lol.

Also anyone worked with any of these before? I'm willing to put a few pennies into it but not over the top.

Buy a whole buttload of wallets and piece them together. Then take a drive by PETA headquarters and ride the whip.

Rhino!!! or a Giraffe!!! No no! Wait... THREE TOED SLOTH! :)
As far as a unique hide, Ostrich does look pretty good. I'm not to crazy about reptiles myself however... (I hear the gator one is popular among the Tallahassee set, though...)

Let me know how it turns out.

Yeah, I guess you can just wait around in the mall until some kid gets in trouble and his Mom goes to work on him. Buy factory direct and SAVE! :)

you just have to remember what buffalo bill suggests "it puts the lotion on it's skin"

if you don't follow his recommendation, it will dry out, then start to show cracks everywhere

Never seen Whale interior before. And you would have enough to do the entire interior.

I personally like the rich leather of the King Ranch F-150s. Perhaps some heavy duty cowhide would be in order?
