What will it take to get one of these wired up in my truck?
I know a certian individual that wants to swap, should be a fairly easy swap. only thing i dont know is wiring but i cant see it being too hard.
Anyone think of something i missed?
Mine is an 03 his is an 04

I can't comment on that setup alone, but I know that stock ford subwoofer wiring is a PITA.
I did a nice little install in a ford mustang with the mach 360, we tried to keep the origional sub with the aftermarket H/U...no luck. The wires make no sence to me, or 3 shops we went to. I wish we could find a nice wiring diagram, but it is so dang confusing...also, the stock amp is a PITA too...there is about 10 wires going to it, you only need 2 RCA's, Remote, Ground, Power=5...I'm not sure why they doubled up. The colors don't make sence at all either.
But if you have an aftermarket H/U, you are going to need a hpf (high pass filter) also, unless you can hook in low-level RCA's or use a Line Level Converter. If you don't there is no way to control the output and you will get "words" through the woof
IMO zach, skip that mod, take the center console, take the stock subwoofer out, buy an aftermarket along with an aftermarket amp and go to town!
Now, I may be totally wrong because I have only messed with 1 ford factory sub setup, and I did not have (nor could not find) a sub wiring diagram, but you WILL need some sort of high pass filter if there is not one built in.

I have one and I doubt it would work
there were many unseen changes 2003 to 2004 and that unit is actually a poineer set up
it came only with the 290 watt 6 CD changer + auto tranny and has a seperate amp built into the console
good luck - it really fills out the cab sound, but would never win any shattering events

I am pretty sure you could do this Zach, I am looking at the schematic right now for it. There are two 16 guauge 12 volts feeds into the amp, 2 16 gauge grounds, the enable circuit which is 22 gauge (Have to check that wire for what kind of voltage is on it before removing from the donor truck, depending on what it is then you may be able to tie into the remote wire on the back of your radio), then you have two wires a + and - for the audio input and lastly the sheild for the speaker wiring which is really not needed but could be installed if you liked. There are four more wires that go from the sub to the amplifier but they should stay with the console when you take it out.
As far as the filter that they spoke of above you can just buy a high/low converter and a short RCA cable. The RCA will come out of the radio jacks you have for a sub, go into the converter and then comes out with speaker wire.
The converter is like this.
Hope that helps.Converter
