Window stopped working suddenly

I put my '99 Ranger's drivers side window down earlier and now it will not go up. I thought at first that it had to be a bad switch because they usually go out slowly. I replaced the switch and still no window. What do you guys think is wrong? I have the door panel off right now so I can check whatever.

Cheers,
Jonathan

I doubt it. I know that there is power getting to the switch, and the passengers side still rolls up and down fine.

I should have mentioned that. Thanks for the suggestion.

are there separate fuses? hit the motor with a hammer. no joke, tons of ranger windows just poop out and need a little "motivation".

Well damnit. I hit it with a hammer and it went up. This is both good and shitty. Wish it was just a switch or something. :) Guess I need a motor.

Many thanks for the tip. I wasn't looking forward to leaving my truck in the driveway over night with the window down.
