I found a receipt for a Remote Starter installation. I just bought a 2009 Ranger XL 4x2 2.3L , 5 spd manual trans. The keys came with two fobs that don't do anything but flash the lights when I push the lock/unlock buttons. The guy who sold me the Ranger didn't know what it was for. See picture please. I do not know what this is doing, i don't have power locks. Someone told me it looks like a remote starter. I put it in neutral and pushed the red AS button, nothing happened, not sure if it's an Alarm. Can anyone help me figure out what it may be installed for or where to start looking. Thank you, Sammy

go to a key expert. tons on craigslist and try doing another rest on remote it could be that simple but i dont know enough about that to be a pro.
also im sure u have electric windows and locks, not doing a manual to electric conversion

 

sorry read the whole thing if u have no power locks then it wont lock but the alarm is flashing for you. u ned to do a conversion basically put a power lock actuator (pick n pull) that way the fob can use it. also u have a truck why is there a boot open button its not the right fob maybe;m not an expert. but it seems like u need to lock ur doors and use the fob to probly turn on an after market alarm
