truck cutting out at high rpm

So yesterday the truck started cutting out when i was in throttle about 3500 rpm. It actually backfired a little bit, but mainly its bucking/cutting out doesnt quiet feel like its trying to stall out but it feels like it has no power almost.
this to me sounds like a fuel issue, possibly a clogged fuel filter? I've been having transmission issues i.e slipping, not wanting to shift into the next gear. could my trans be the culprit? i plan to check it out once i'm done moving stuff into storage but im just trying to get an idea, or if someone else has an idea as to what it could be.

truck is a 4.0 with a 5r55e trans.

You will get someone that really knows what is going on but for now:
Get the fuel pressure checked at the injector end at idle and maybe at rpm.
Have your Alternator and Battery checked out under load.
Replace the Coil Pack with a high output version AND maybe new plug wires.

In that order; at least that is what I would do.

ive had the truck up at 75 but it wants to cut out if i keep it in the higher rpm

btw half those parts listed we're already replaced with the last year, i think its a fuel issue just going to actually have to check it soon here.

same thing happened to me as well. replace the fuel filter takes all of 10 minutes lol and there like 15$. i also ran into the problem where the impact fuel cutoff sensor kept on messing up and shut down my fuel pump at random times. yea no power steering or braked crusing at 75 on the highway=no fun
