Tech put wrong fluid in power steering?
Hey everyone just had a quick question. I recently had some work done on my 99 4.0 and I had them flush the power steering fluid while it was there as it was pretty brown. I know it takes Mervin v but I figured they wouldve looked it up before refilling it. Low and behold I check it a few days later and the fluid is nearly black. I think they put power steering fluid in it instead of atf. My question is is this bad for the system? I just replaced the power steering rack last year so I don't want stuff to be ruined.

If pwr steerring fluid was in fore a short time I don't believe it would hurt anything.
If your worried change it out yourself...I use an old turkey baster to draw off / out as much fluid as I can, refill with proper fluid. Run it for a few days, and repeat. After second refill you should be good to go.
A single quart of proper fluid will be more than enough to do the change.
