sport trac cluster questions and odometer swap??

ok i got this sport trac cluster off ebay and i was under the impression that i could swap the odometer out with the one i have in my truck but after completely dismantling the sport trac cluster I’m not sure if i can or not. well i know i can but is there any downsides to it? it looks like I have to remove the needle for the speedo, so will it be off when i go to put it back on?

my other option i thought of was changing the current odo in the sport trac cluster to something close to what my truck reads now. but I’m not sure how to do that. i guess if all else fails ill just start off at 200 miles.

in a pic below you can see the odo and a motor that drives it, is there any way i can apply power to that motor and make the odo go up?

any other ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

here is a pic of the cluster if anyone want to see it :)

I remember a guy did this to his 02 ranger and he just pulled the whole ODO out and rolled it back. I dont know for sure the specifics but if you wanna bring it up on the 17th we can figure it out.

well i might be screwed... was going real good. then i messed up one of the tabs on the motor that drives the odo. it might be fixable, but we will see.

i do have the odo rolled to 56k so that is cool, now if only i wouldnt have broke the tab
