splash guard/shield/something. I need a name to find a replacement.
I replaced the drivers side upper control arm the other day with a Moog, and had removed the splash guard (?) from inside the wheel well to get at the two camber bolts. The shield or guard or whatever it is was just a sheet of rubber that protects the engine from debris and water/snow coming off the tire. It was in bad shape and almost falling apart, but I cannot seem to locate one online, as I do not know the proper name for it. Anyone?
Thanks,
Sean

If I wanted to keep the engine compartment cleaner in a 98+ Ranger, I would definitely not use FO1250144. It is the equivalent of the 1/4 length driver side part that Ford used for a few years (my 03 came with one) and it is totally worthless. Ford doesn't even bother installing this shortened part on the newest Rangers.
FO1250144
The "passenger side" part is the full length shield and it will fit either side of 98+ Rangers. Ford used to use a full size shield like this on both sides and the only difference in part numbers between DS and PS was the direction that the push pins face. Simply pushing out and reversing the push pins will convert PS to DS.

Here's what happened to Swoop's LII with the lame 1/4-length factory DS guard. Expect the same or worse on the newer Rangers that have no guard at all:
[And, OBTW, if you think you can just go back to the part number that Ford used in 98 for the full length DS shield and order it, think again. I tried that and I got another of the stupid 1/4 length parts because the P/N had been superceded. That's when I wised up, ordered the PS part and reversed the pins.]
