Shift lever adjustment
Here's a perfect example of the 'measure twice, cut once' theorem:
I mounted an xm radio on my dash where the cigarette lighter was mounted.(the mounting hole for the lighter had been broken some time ago so no big loss) The problem is when I put the truck in gear, the end of the shift lever partially blocks the radio display - dum, huh? Is there an easy way to adjust where the lever ends up when you are in a particular gear? I just need to move it up about 3/4" or so. Any ideas?

Remove the shifter in the parking lot, mark it and carry it into a shop with an arbor press and have them bend it. Actually, it sounds like you need it straightened. A lot of people like the shifter moved closer (left). Regardless, it is going to take a lot of force to bend it or straighten it. It's easy enough to remove tho'.
Now that I re-read her post, I'm betting this is an Automatic gear handle.
Suggest you relocate the XM in that case. Or adjust the seat.

Yes, it is an automatic - I should update my profile. It is a '99 3.0 4x4 extended cab with superior wheels and Hella driving lights. Not much else done - it's a daily driver ya know. I can just leave the radio where it is and kinda 'lift' the lever slightly if I want to read the upper lines in the display. No big deal...but, I thought if it was easy to adjust, I wouldn't have to explain my mistake every time someone new get's into the truck and wonders why I put the display behind the shifter.
Years ago, I helped a friend put a tach in a Chevelle (console/floor shift). We used a strap clamp to mount it on the column and when we were done, he started it up and threw the car into gear and - yup, you guessed it - the tach swung around to the bottom of the column! Man did we laugh!
