Icon5 Ran Into a Problem...

The frame i got was for a 3.0 and i put my 4.0 on it and when i got my cab on i tested the hood and its held up by an inch from the motor....i have 2 options...1 to buy or have someone make drop mounts or i can just buy a cowl hood and call it a day....where did you guys get those hoods i keep seeing on the rangers here?

seems like you just gave your answer to the problem in the last post. you need to use the 4.0 motor mounts.

Maybe the trans mount is different. If the trans is sitting lower it could cause the front of the engine to be high. The one picture looks like the engine is on an angle, high in the front. I have never swapped engine sizes on the same frame so I don't know the answer but if its not the trans mount you will probably need 4.0 2wd mounts.

its because the engine crossmember is different from a 2wd non edge and a edge/4x4

Your stock 4x4 one sits lower if i remember correctly, so thats why it clears

Maybe look into 2wd non edge 4.0 motor mounts

Yea...is the trans installed? On it's crossmember?? If I remember correctly, when I did my clutch swap and had my trans out and motor just hangin', it was leaning back quite a bit....possibly enough to pitch it far enough back to cause interference with the hood.
