Flashing Engine Light Under Load Or Uphill
My Ranger 3.0 V6 RWD with 265,000 miles is having some performance issues. Not picking up any codes, however, once I get to around 3 rpm, my engine light will start flashing and I usually have no choice but to step off the gas once this occurs. I have replaced the fuel filter, air filter, TPS, MAF sensor, coil pack, spark plugs, fixed vacuum leaks, and an intake manifold leak very recently, as of this end of August, which all have helped, but, it was all supposed to anyway with these miles. Guys at the shop said she looks pretty tight underneath the hood from first glance and underneath. But, still a rough idle and lack of power. Fluids are good, always oil changed at 3.000 miles & Prob some other little things in there I’ve done that I haven’t mentioned. Looking for suggestions on how to move forward with ol’ girl. I’ve got big plans for her!

Welcome to the forum
Flashing CEL means "let off the gas, or engine damage may occur!!!" so very important to do just that
It indicates a bad misfire under load, and yes there should be misfire codes so you need to get those
As far as the cause, what YEAR Ranger?
2004-2006 3.0l Rangers have a TSB about misfires
Also rough idle along with the Flashing CEL under load would fit with that
Do you notice any pinging/knocking under load?
