Icon4 Door ajar/Cabin light stuck on

Hello everyone..

Today I ran into a bit of a problem with my truck.

The door ajar light stays on constantly, even tho im positive that both doors are closed.. I've tried both doors to make sure and it stays on.

As well, the cabin light stays on. Its weird however, because once i start driving around, the cabin light goes off, but the door ajar light still stays on? Then as I continue to drive, the door ajar light just goes off on its on time..

Really lost on this one.. i managed to finally get the cabin light to stay off when i locked the truck up..

Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

BTW its a 2001 Ranger Edge, about 50000 kms on it.

Dan

shoot some wd-40 in both door latches and cycle the latches a few times. the switches stick, its a common issue with these trucks

Mine does that from time to time as well. Will stay on for a day, or two, and then after it gets shut enough times it starts back to normal again. It goes away just long enough that it will irritate me again when it comes back. Oh well. Could be worse. My girlfriend has no dome light at all. Every time I try to replace the bulb it blows.

WD 40 or any lube spray, into every latch on every door, and every moving part. make sure u get every door and every latch then slam and open like 20x per door.

Both my '97 and '02 have had this problem. It's a little frustrating that Ford has never really fixed this.

No door ajar dome light still stays on

So I already knew to spray penetrant in the latch, Ive owned an explorer for over 7 years, but I just picked up a 95 ranger xlt and door ajar light turns off when door are shut and comes on when they are open so the switchs are fine, but yet im still having the issue that the domes wont turn off, the center bulb or either of the side ones, I have the out now but would like to have some light in the cab when needed, oh and the wheel on the dash isnt clicked past full either, and its working aswell because the bed lights stay on if it is and are off when its clicked off

We had this problem and the spray on the interior latch resolved the light staying on!
