the ohc lights up and works fine, radio works fine, ac lights dont work, fog light switch is dark too.

fuse 33 keeps popping and i dont knwo what to do. we didnt go anywhere near the wiring for the dash so i dont know what the problem is

Yes. I've used it for a couple of things. No problems.

Which fuse 33 are we talking about? In the engine compartment or in the cab? You shouldn't have one in the cab unless you have daytime running lights.

Fuse 33 in the engine compartment goes to just two places: the light switch and the CSM (keyless entry module). You probably lose keyless entry when this happens also, yes?

On the light switch, it feeds the panel dimmer. That wire you DID tap into at the radio, and perhaps when you routed it up to the console you have a splice that comes apart and shorts, or a wire that is rubbed through the insulation or pinched. I'd check that first.

Also, it makes no sense what you posted: are your dash electronics DEAD, or do they just not light up. Fuse 33 shouldn't be causeing the whole dash to go dead, only the lighting of it.

The 2004s have the new electronic cluster powered from 33 in the so-called Smart Junction Box in the PS kick panel. It is constant B+ for the cluster but not the nighttime illumination. The LB/RD IP illumination current passes through fuse 31 and then fuse 1, both also in the SJB.

Good to know. He has a 2001 though.

Did you get 2003/2004 service manuals on CD somewhere, Bob? I haven't found them. Or do you have paper? I seem to remember you saying somewhere you had the books.

is it your truck or Bailey's that is having the problems Alon?
Bailey posted in GE and the thread appears to be cut & paste job so it's a real puzzle

Then my original post applies. Most likely you have a short in the wire you tapped into the blue/red wire on the radio.

there was a short in the blue/red wire to the radio. i driled a hole to keep the wires more organized and better routed but forgot to tape the wires so they wont get cut on the edges of the hole.

Very good! Well, it's a detail you can't ignore in a vehicle since wires get shaken around so much. Lesson learned type of thing. I've had plenty of those.

Ha ha! I got confused. Bailey posted Alon's symptoms on G-E under her screen name with her signature (2004). I thought these problems were on her truck.

Yes, I have all of my Wiring Manuals on paper. The only thing I have on CD is a 2002 shop manual.
