Brake lights Wiring diagram
I bought an 02 ranger a few weeks ago. Im having problems with the breaklights. they were a problem when we looked at the truck, but they got them fixed and they were working but not when i got home. My brother was driving my truck the other day and says they were working.
all lights work except the brakes. The brake light above the cab works though. The Swich was replaced along with the master switch or whatever it is called, the stalk on the left side of the steering problem by the previous owner.
I have the chilton's manual for my year truck. The wiring diagram is contradictory to what i am observing with my truck. In the manual one filament is wired solely to the brake lights, while the other operates the blinkers and night time lights. In my truck the night lights and the turn signals are operating on seperate filaments. Is there any reason why my wiring would be different, and how would i find a correct diagram.
I can post pictures of the diagram if anyone needs it. It seems to me like a break somewhere in the wire. Once i figure out the wiring situation i should just be able to run a new wire along the existing harness, correct?
thanks
Lee
