Bed tie downs

It looks like the tie downs are made of some kind of plastic. I have a motorcycle and might haul it in the future. The proper way to haul a bike is completly compress the front forks. Would those tie downs be strong enough to hold down a bike with straps?
I'm afraid it one might break and there goes my bike over the side.
has anyone installed tie downs in the bottom of the bed similar to what Dodge has?

flareside. That's the one with the step on the outside of the bed right? I've always called it a step side....

no, it's a cleat style. Similar to what you would see on a boat or boat dock. They are definatly plastic. I used to work in a plastic injection factory in college and appears to be made of a very strong type of plastic we would use sometimes. Strong but brittle.
