Auto dim/E-compass mirror

I dont want an OHC, I have more storage than I need right now. So I figure I could get something like a Gentex mirror or something off ebay or a GM junker and wire it in. My question is, would I be able to wire it into the Dome light in the truck? Since it can draw its own power or would I need to put it to something thats on constantly like the PCM power wire?

If you wired it into the domelight it would only be on when the domelight is on. I would just wire it up like its supposed to be with a hot in run, its not hard at all to run a wire up there.

I guess it really depends on the actual mirror and all the functions its capable of. Some need a constant power for like clock memory and others just need a power wire thats hot on run. Then some will need a dim wire or reverse input wire.
