Anyone replaced their taurus efan motor?
I bought an efan from a member here and it took a **** after a 5 mins run. I hit up my local autozone and bought a new motor with lifetime warranty for 70. Before anyone asks, I wired the fan up using 10ga wire for power and ground, had 50A breakers for each 70A relays (one for each speed). The fan seemed kinda weak when I hooked it up, then would slow down and pick back up and slow down again. The wires got REALLY hot and it finally died. Anyone find a better price with that kind of warranty?

Just an update on this, I got the new motor and it runs WAY stronger. The replacement was a Siemens PM9001. I put the fan back together, let it run for 10 mins and wires didnt heat up at all. It was obvious that the old motor was going out, probably why it was sold. Anyone looking to replace their taurus fan motor should look into these units, $70 with lifetime warranty. Ebay has some guy selling the entire fan with original motor for about $100 shipped. You can get a junk fan like I did for less than $30, buy the new motor for $70 and you have a $100 fan setup with a lifetime warranty, seems like a good deal to me.

quick update...efan is in and working...low speed keeps it at 195 idling in 100F heat...high drops it to 193 then the stat closes and heats it back up to 195. Power gains are minimal but I can feel it. MPGs do seem to have increased 1-2mpg more MAYBE...will have to run through a couple of tanks to be sure. I have tons of pics of the fan installed and can provide anyone with the .pdf schematic I made using (2) 50A breakers and (2) 70A relays and 10ga wire. It was a fun project, went WAY over budget because of the bad fan but fun none the less....on to my OHC and lighted visors.
