95 ranger won't start

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger XLT supercab 2.3 l4. My ignition it's not turning the truck over. When the battery is connected all of my accessories are on. It is like my ignition is stuck in accessory mode. If I take the key out the truck still acts like its on. When I turn the key over the dash lights will dim but it doesn't sound like its trying to do anything. I've replaced the ignition lock cylinder along with relays but it still does the same thing. I can start the motor by jumping the solenoid, but it will not stay on because the Fuel pump won't engage without the ignition being turned over. Any info on why its not starting is greatly appreciated.

Under the steering column above brake/gas pedal is the Ignition Switch.

The key cylinder is connected to a Rod that runs down inside the steering column, when you turn the key the rod slides the Ignition switch into its 4 positions, ACC OFF RUN START

So could be ignition switch or actuator rod problem

Video here on ignition switch: youtube.com/watch?v=j3I2oye8OpQ

Disconnect battery before working on ignition switch
Once you have it out you can slide it into its 4 positions manually to see if it is the problem

Actuator rod is less likely to be the problem but............it can be and you have to remove steering wheel and dig into the column to replace it

This is an F-150 article but will be similar to Ranger: https://www.fordf150.net/articles/id...9703-F150.html

This rod also Locks steering wheel, does steering wheel still lock?
