This is an odd one and I couldnt find anything related on the forums. If I missed it please forgive me. 05 Ranger 4.0 4x2. Relay on the rigght kick panel (Passenger side) buzzes when I hit the brakes and the headlights are on. The blinker lights both come on, the windshield wipers stop working if they are on. If I have anything plugged into the cigarette lighter it shuts off. If OD is on and I turn the lights off while driving it downshifts. Very strange!!! I replaced that relay under the kick panel. The turn signal winker is good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Passenger side kick panel is the Smart Junction Box(SJB)

It has the BCM(body control module) and all cab relays and all cab fuses in it.

Not much you can test, most likely it will have to be replaced

Yeah....Looks like you maay be right. Everything that this truck is doing is tied into that box. Could it be cracked or something that is causing this???

I think that is just the fuse panel part, but never replaced an SJB myself

May need to call a Ford dealer, and give them your VIN, and see what they have for part numbers

 

Yep and from what Im reading they may have to "flash" the unit also.
