2001 Ranger XLT 3.0L not feeling well!

This is a last ditch effort before I just let the truck sit. Thanks ahead for any help you guys can give.

I am NOT a mechanic and have not taken the truck in for any of the symptoms i'm currently experiencing!

2001 Ranger 3.0L V6 189k miles.

Had the truck for almost 6 years. It has always been kinda gutless but was my daily driver. Normal MPG as far as I can tell. Has always had a slight shimmy when idling. During acceleration when getting on the freeway the truck would hesitate/buck above 3000 RPM. This happened maybe a dozen times over 6 years. It was annoying when it happened but after that it would drive fine. I've had the master and slave cylinder replaces twice with the most recent work done about 9 months ago. Has been running and driving "normal" unit a week ago.

Drove truck on Sunday. Bucked a few times on the freeway. This was very odd behavior. Parked for the night didn't think much of it. Started truck Monday to drive to work. Had a rough idle. Truck was bucking and lurching down the road. Couldn't get it up to 30 mph. Made it a mile from home then turned around and came back. While parked the idle was rough fluctuating between about 700 to 1500 RPM. Waited for the weekend to look at it.

When the bucking happens while driving IN GEAR there is no real visible change in RPM. Just a momentary but frequent power loss while trying to accelerate. So I'm thinking it's not transmission or clutch related but I could be wrong.

From cold start the truck sounded fine. Revved engine a few times and seemed fine. But when I tried to drive down the street it would start bucking whenever I tried to give it some throttle. Limped it back home. Parked it and revved it a few times to maybe 3500 RPM. I let off the throttle and the RPM went down then up then down then stalled. Stared back up with rough idle. Engine ran like it was on the edge of dying with the RPM dipping below about 500 then lifting back above 1000 (back and forth back and forth). At this point it's undrivable!

Attempts:

I got a scanner to check what was wrong. Only codes were for Hot Exhaust Sensor value wrong. I assume that is unrelated.
I pulled the vacuum line from the EGR while running. The scanner showed an EGR fault following that. I also checked with a hand vacuum pump to verify it holds vacuum and the valve does actuate.
I pulled the plug wires from the coil pack one at a time (got shocked twice). All the electrodes appear to be good. I put in new plugs about 3 years ago but haven't pulled any out yet. The bucking and lurching seem to be engine wide rather than a misfire of one or more cylinders. Its like a loss of full engine power for a very short burst that gets worse the higher the RPM gets. Also the scanner shows misfire on each plug wire I pulled from the coil pack.

Next was a fuel system diagnoses.

Was told to try Seafoam. Put in one whole can for a full tank. Might have lessened the severity of the bucking a bit. But a casual observer would say nothing changed. I've only driven/idled a total of about an hour since putting in the Seafoam. This stuff may do something but the power loss seems engine wide.

Got a fuel pressure gauge to check fuel pressure. I received confusing information at first about what pressure I should see. The first reading was at 65 PSI idle pressure with almost no change when revving with no load. At first I though the pressure was to high. I wrongly thought I had a possibly bad or blocked fuel return line causing high pressure. I started by putting in a new fuel filter. No debris was seen from the old filter. Found more info about the fuel pressure regulator being inside the tank with the fuel pump. Turns out my 2001 3.0L V6 has a "returnless" fuel system so the pressure I see is normal I guess. I learned the new information out of order and because I'm not a mechanic I jumped the gun and replaced the pump. New one shows the same idle PSI of 65lbs. Old fuel pump screen looked discolored but was intact. No visible debris in tank.

Tried to drive down the street with the fuel pressure gauge visible. When the truck bucks and the engine looses power I can see the fuel pressure needle kinda spike and dip but pretty much stays within a 55 to 70 PSI window. I assume the fluctuation is the fuel system trying to keep up or compensate when the engine looses power during the bucking events. Not having another Ranger to compare it to I'm guessing the fuel pump/filter is functioning normally up to the test port where I'm reading the pressure at.

Read of possible catalytic converter being clogged. The exhaust flow visually looks normal to me. Normal shell and condensate from cold start. I went under and gave it a few hits with a mallet but didn't change any behavior.
New battery. Cleaned terminals.
I've replaced a few crusty looking vacuum lines.
Removed and cleaned the IAC valve.
Removed most of the larger wire harnesses to check for corrosion.
Cleaned MAF sensor.
New air filter.

So far my attempts have been fruitless. I would ask for the next possible location to diagnose that could be fixed with my limited knowledge in these matters before I have to take it to the pros. If anyone has a suggestions I would be grateful.
