1999 Ranger 4x4 Off Road
My 99 Ranger has a bad 4.0l engine, I have a good 97 4.0l engine. Can I use the 97 engine if I change the fuel rail and the top manifold. The 97 engine is a EGR engine, my 99 is not, any help from the Tech Guys is appreciated. Sorry Guys i see I have posted this in the wrong thread.

Yes, just swap the upper and lower intakes complete and possibly the oil pan
You might get away with just fuel rail and can leave 1997 lower intake in place, look at where coolant temp sensors are.
You will also need to swap over the 1999 Cam sensor and tower to the 1997 and time it, 1999 should have 2 wire cam sensor, 1997 will have 3 wire, they are different types of sensors and not interchangeable
You can block off the EGR Valve port on the 1997 intake manifold, you can buy or make a block off plate
