102" SS Whip Mounting ???'s

I wanna replace my 4' wilson fiberglass cb antenna. I had to remove it from where it was since my new toolbox wouldn't open up more than half way. I like the look of it but I was thinking about switching to a 102" whip. That's what I originally wanted but the place I went to told me I had to buy six of them at a time cuz that's how many he has to buy and nobody buys them apparently. Well I found a single whip, mounting brackets and such. What I need to know is; Can I mount this on my rear bumper and have it bent down to a lil clip on my bed rail. So is it worth my time and money? I'm not too sure of the angles and if it will work, where can I find the clip or whatever it is to hold down the tip of the antenna? Thanks in advance for your help guys.

I don't know wtf the rope is for, but i can see where that metal clip would come in handy.

I have a quick question for ya, how did you run the wiring? I ran mine down into the bed through the grommet and into the door jam up and around till finally it goes in by the inside fuse box under the dash. I have heard its bad to have the antenna wire in "loud noise" areas, so I didnt know if the door jam was a bad idea or not. I can talk to people fine when the truck is off, but I seem to get quite a bit more interference when driving, could that be why or is that normal?

detailed pic of what?..

the rope if you look on some humvees, is the part that is attached to the truck, like a tie down, but i was saying for a more permanent thing, just screw it to yer truck using a plate or somthn to hold the rope down at watever length you want.

radio shack has them in the back of the store, you have to ask someone knowledgeable to get one. The younguns don't know that they carry it.

I had to tell the guy where they kept them when I was in there picking a few up.

Is it sad that I know what they have in the store better than the people working there?

Try Radio Shacks in smaller towns. My Local Radio Shack (Forest Lake MN) always has them. They are only about 12 bucks. We are kind of a redneck town so they keep them in stock. I have bought three of them over the years, ( I still have two and I gave one to Interceptor)

Any Radio shack can order one for you to.

Good Luck!
