I have a quad for the dunes. Don't really need an F150. Well I don't want to deal with the gas mileage.

I have heard of F-150s pulling similar mileage with a few mods.. Chip, exhaust, intake and some other bolt on stuff. Just a thought. I know you said room wasnt an issue but they surely are bigger inside.

You could even find an FX4 that is an ext cab so its not super big for im sure a good deal. cheaper than a taco

taco = over rated.

Another issue arises with F150s. They can be too big for offroading. I want to get back into it a bit more but probably not like before.

Hmmm. Well.. the Chevy colorado had an option for the vortec 5300 in it this year.. that would be a hella fun truck. full size V-8 in a mid size truck. I would love one of them even though i think they sit way to low to the ground.

I test drove one in Fayetteville Arkansas... they run decent. I think the 4.0 would hold its own.

Hmm whats the gearing in them? I think they are 3.73. Put it on like 4.10s or 4.56s and it probably would do good.

what i hate is the 4 speed tranny.. wtf is that about haha.

Hi, 23K is a high price to pay since Ford is offering 3% below Employee Pricing for the last 6 weeks, I bought a 09 Ranger XLT 4x4 auto 4.0 pretty well loaded for $ 19.900.00 including tax & tags in South east Pa., The window stickered around 25,900.00. They want to sell !!!

Well I'm sure I could get them to go lower on the price. 23 was just the internet price after the employee pricing.

I was talking about price.

But yes they sit way lower than my 03. People think I have a lift on my truck sometimes.

They are 16 millimeters lower, which is a hair more than half an inch. Barely noticable.

I bought my 07 FX4 in July 07 for like 24. Put 3K down and now its at 22.5K miles and according to edmunds it's worth almost exactly what I owe on it.

Back then I only found 2 Rangers in my area with 4.10 gears (tons of 4x4 with 3.73 gears). The lvl2 was sold by the time I got to the dealership but I was fine taking the regular FX4.

If you can find a 07 with low miles take it. I love the 07 and after driving a 93 Geo all week it feels real good to sit in and drive the 07. The mayments don't hurt as much when I'm actually driving it also.

I would probably get a Taco early 2000s crew cab or whatever they call it. I could go for a bit more space and 4 doors. Now if Ford had a truck that size with 4 doors it might be a different story.

Look at it this way. If it's with in your means to afford a new truck. Go for it! I often think about trading, but I wont. I have to much time invested into my truck and love it. Though I may consider a reg cab ranger for a second truck by summer.

Well I can afford it but it would mean I would have to stay at home for a bit longer. Well at least until my quad is paid off but that it. I have too much time invested in my truck but I really hate replacing the same part over and over again.
