I knew you had an 8.8. I was just testing you.

But yeah I can't believe you have 33s on 3.55s, even with a 4.0. That is NO DOUBT the cause of your bad gas mileage. It's like hauling around 200 pounds of sand all day.

4.10s will be fine but personally, if I was gonna pay to regear I would go ahead and do 4.56s and save yourself the trouble.

My 2007 Ranger with the 3.0 auto 2WD super cab gets 22mpg combined city/hi-way.

I would think it could do better than that as my 89 Bronco II 2.9 5 speed 4WD gets 22 -25mpg...

I'm getting 22-23 mpg in my 95 auto 2.3 Ranger. That's at 245,000 miles with 50/50 driving.

My MPG

I have an '02 XLT ext. cab with the 4.0 and I am getting almost 23 mpg. The only thing I have done is cut the bottom off the air cleaner box to let in more air. I would like to get an aftermarket air intake on it but they are too expensive for me right now since I am unemployed.

I just checked mine with a fill up today and I got 18.5 mpg all city driving, heavy stop and go.

On the highway, I have gotten 31 mpg.

I got 14mpg on my first tank after the superlift and 33 mt's? This was driving 40 miles to the mountains and back at 70, seems like i should be getting better. Anyone know how much my speedo and odometer is off with bigger tires?

The speedo seems to vary how much it is off in my truck with the 32's.. get a GPS and check it.. or find a speed trap.
