Today, I painted one of my fender flares satin black and ordered some new body clips. Here is why...I took my truck through a Mister (formerly Prime-Shine) car wash, about halfway through it sounded like Madison Bumgarner through a fastball at the passenger side of my truck. Aside from the startle it gave me, I thought nothing of it and went on to my next stop, the pharmacy. When walking away from my truck, heading into Rite Aid, I noticed the rear fender flare on my passenger side was missing! Upon further inspection I noticed a rather large dent just in front of the fender flare. IDK what caused the dent, but it created a tiny gap between the bed and the flare. The high speed air dryers at the end did the rest. Luckily it had only been lightly damaged, nothing a coat of satin black and some new body clips can’t fix. I never liked those automated car washes, but with all the wild fires in my part of CA, there is so much ash falling out of the sky that it looks like it’s snowing at times. So my significant other talked me into one of those monthly memberships. After this incident I am canceling my membership, trucks look better with a lil dirt on em’ anyway.
while in the garage I did some work on my fiancé’s Focus. I installed the same double din touchscreen Kenwood that I recently installed in my truck. Since I had her dash apart (the new unit required a new dash piece anyway) I took advantage and painted the dash her favorite color (orange) and did a carbon fiber print hydro dip. What do you guys think?

Today I installed a USB port (which connects to the back of my head-unit) in place of the cigarette lighter. This makes plugging my phone into the deck (to allow use of Apple Car play) much easier and cleans up the look of the dash (since there is no longer a usb cable hanging out from under the dash).

I ended up installing bucket seats out of a 1997 Ford Thunderbird. Much more comfortable than the stock Ranger seats. Had to have a friend do some welding to the seat tracks to get them to line up.
I also purchased a center console out of a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. It was grey so I painted it black. It is now installed. Since it didn't come with the console lid, I had to purchase a new one online. Once it arrives, I'll take a picture of it installed.

Installed a set of tube steps I got from Amazon.
Also bought and installed a Traxion Tailgate Ladder. About $48 bucks from Amazon.
I call it my "old man with shot knees ladder". Makes getting into bed sooo easy for someone with bad knees or arthritis
When folded it is hardly noticeable and out of the way..

I finally got the door handles replaced on my truck. The passenger side handle had broken off about a month ago. I ended up buying new metal ones. While I had the door apart, I wanted to do a few other things to the door. I ended up installing some sound deadening insulation on the doors. I also replaced the stock speakers with some Rockford Fosgate speakers. The padded section of the door panel was originally black cloth. I ended up recovering them with this tan leather material. I also used that for the center console lid. The center console came out of a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. It was originally grey, but I painted it black.

Permatex & Bondo
I need five years out of this 190k midwestern truck. Hit the frame with permatex rust converter, some lighter spots with rust oleum rust transformer and smoothed some of the pits with bondo. Hard decision: learn weld or good, temporary bondo. For two years, bondo will look good then fall off. Noob welding is permanent and looks crappy day one.

Truck wouldn't start, took battery to AutoZone, they said it was fine, t just need a charge. I reinstalled it, and it started, just the once though. So, I walked back in, the tech sighed, and handed me a new battery. Once under the hood of Tarzan (the monacher that my fiance has bestowed upon my lift-leveled 99 x-cab 4x4; her Focus is named "Jane"...).
Slightly off topic, but I was running Torque Pro (the $5 version) on my Galaxy S7. I just upgraded to an iPhone 11 (this is my first iPhone, please forgive my iOS ignorance), for the life of me I can't find how I recover purchased apps(i.e. Torque Pro). When I search in the Apple App store, I don't find anything named "Torque Pro". Any suggestions on how I might find Torque Pro and get it working on my iPhone? Is there another OBD-II scanning software that is comparable, preferably superior to Torque that y'all would recommend? Thank you for your time and any assistance that you may be able to provide.

Today? Since I took the clogged up CAI k&n filter off my idle was hunting a lil bit. Put filter back on and idle smoothed out but I got rich code again. So took filter back off.
I figured its probably because the MAF sensor was right there at the end of the tube it probably wasn't reading correctly. So I stretched an old sock over the intake tube. That fixed it, for now. Eventually I want to re-use the stock airbox. But the air intake tube for this truck is not easy to come by. Might check around the junkyards. Really dont want to buy another one of those k&n round filters. So for the time being I'll just use the sock filter. As I was working in this I noticed a lil bit of chirping from the fan belt. Maybe that's for tomorrow?
