The "What did you do to your Ranger today" thread

When got the new to me tires and rims, I thought they were a mat finish. Then got to looking, no they are just oxidized and filthy. So spent about 45 minutes per rim and.....
not perfect but look good for a 21 year old truck. Used cloth wheel and brown rouge. Then mothers mag cleaner and foam pad. Wiped off all black then used a window cleaner. Then used the Lucas spray way for final clean and shine.

My wife's been driving my Ranger while I've been driving the Jeep-branded thing and she hasn't been a fan of having anything exposed in the bed so I've been looking for a truck cap to put on it. Was on my way home from a camping trip up in the mountains and came across a free one on the side of the road, it needed a good cleaning, a hydraulic arm to keep the window open and is a tad small for the Ranger (it came off of a newer model Tacoma) but otherwise it's been working good.

Well, today I did brakes all around on my sister in law’s GMC Acadia. Not a difficult job but on stands in the driveway always has its challenges.
Once THAT was done I made some more progress on the Ranger project. Pressed out the old leaf spring bushings, cleaned up the eyelets and pressed in the new ones. Finished painting the frame pieces for assembly. I ran out of light (and steam - pushing 50 here) so I stopped for the night.
I also got to hang out with my childhood best friend who stopped by for a visit (kids in tow). He is an ex-mechanic and I put him to work. :D

I updated my project log, but I got the rear frame section installed yesterday. Neighbor helped me get it all lined up, get the grade 8 bolts in place and tightened down to check alignment, then I went around and took the nuts off, put on thread locker and torqued them down.
Also yesterday, the LEDs for my high mount stop light/cargo light came in. I got a red LED for the stop light and white for the cargo. I had the lens off to clean/restore it (Sandpaper/water/clear coat ala ChrisFix). Got a new gasket as well. Installed them this morning. Looks good there. My wife said, "Pretty lights!"

I got them on Amazon. The replacement guide says it's a 906. I just searched on LED 906 bulb. The ones I got were AUXITO brand. They've been in two hours, so I couldn't tell you about how long they last yet. It was like 14 bucks for the pair.

I replaced the original fuel filter in my '05.
I drilled 2 small, parallel holes aside the broken stud in my transfer case.
3 of the 4 damper mounting bolts came out fine.
After backing out all 4 a touch I hit 'em with penetrant twice over a 36 hour period but one still wanted to jam in and break.
Steel bolts in an aluminum case outside with salt and snow makes for evil alchemy. The numbskulls who assembled this vehicle absolutely should have used anti-seize.
With the fuel filter replaced I'm getting over it. I'll let Silikroil work a week or so but it it fails to free the stud I'll go with just 3 mounting bolts.
