Replaced rear leaf springs. Passenger side was completed broken, drivers side cracked. Think the PO thought they had a Baja truck and jumped it a couple times. Removed interior to begin sound deadening project and OHC installation. Also redesigning amplifier mounting/configuration. Going to be a busy weekend!

Recovered my headliner and removed rear window to get ready for a new seal which should be hear tomorrow. Thank God it doesn't rain here much, damned thing leaked like a sieve when I tested it with the hose.

Dash to denver and mpg

Partly cloudy, nice day for a run to Denver, about 60 miles south of Loveland.
Traffic was light on I-25, almost unbelievably so. Was running 2500 RPM which relates to about 73-75 MPH. About 40-60 percent interstate, 19.25 average MPG.
All and all a nice day, was looking for a little better mileage.

Removed my front bumper assembly to replace my fog lights and re-do the wiring, waiting for my new fog lights to arrive. Also smacked one of those infamous Pennsylvania pot-holes earlier and bent the passenger side sway bar link.

Got her somewhat cleaned up and a little shining on the wheels. Cleaned up the high mount brake light and cleared it. Prepped and painted my front valance, still waiting on those fog lights because I never ordered them. Tomorrow is another day!

Just ordered Sulastic rear shackels, supposed to soften the ride when empty
It's like a rubber spring that soakes up the road vibrations allowing for a softer, quieter ride as well as keeping the tires in better contact with the pavement

Replaced rotors, pads, and seals. Repacked bearings. Used Bosch replacement parts with a lifetime warranty. No more pulsing and steering wheel vibration and she stops better than new now. Also did 3K mile LOF...

fast run for a new windshield

Made a fast run to Denver this morning for a new windshield (100 bucks installed).

"I can see, I can see...} Had crack that ran east to west, it was like connecting the dots...one pit to the next for about 4ft. Looked like me like my last heart electro cartagraph.

I drove it 896 kms of hwy - 9h on 1.5 tanks of gas (129 litres), L/100kms adds up to an average 15.22.

Not to bad for the truck being 5in lifted with 33s

Been busy on the ranger this week. When Tuesday and picked up a second gen explorer center console and over head display and got test fitted. Yesterday i drop the rear end replaced its the other one was warped. Also pull the transmission back and replaced the slave for the clutch. Know for the fun part bleeding the clutch. Going to take the starter today and have it tested today before i go to work.

Am going to try and get a work log made for the truck today.

Well, now with two weeks or so under your belt what do you think of the Sulastic rear shackels.

Did they do the job, would you recommend them ???

Thanks..

Took the truck for its first test drive today after all the work that has been done was good to see the truck move under its own power :)

zip tie

Eliminated 7mm slack in my throttle cable with one zip tie, Got my 79 yr old pudgy body with my pudgy arms up under the dash by laying on my back with the rest of pudgy body hanging outside the driver side.
Did I mention how much better its drives with out the throttle slack??? Well it does real nice, instant throttle response off the line, makes it seem like has more horse power...
More fun in city driving..

power steering fluid flush

Well, not exactly a flush but--I did change out the fluid with the suck and fill method. Almost clear now, will run if awhile and do again.
