The "What did you do to your Ranger today" thread
#3826
Yah guys it is POR-15. I have tons of the stuff for free so figured I'd use it up. Also some stuff i've been working on (okay, projects in progress cause I'm never done)
I'm planning on painting them black with the "peel-able paint". They have some chrome pitting which is bugging me but right now they're sitting outside i chrome polished em so they look really nice lol.

Mcleary316, Where did you get that front plate?!? I want one!!!
Bought the rear doors from Twinair, put them on and fixed my dome light problem! Also, helped my neighbor get home after his car died. I am towing his car tomorrow morning to the mechanics shop. Put on under hood lights and finished my interior lighting project. Next is the under bedrail lights. Been a good week for my truck!

My truck ate the serpentine belt!
My belt was squeeking on and off, mostly just after starting. Suddenly it sounded like someone threw a cat into my engine. I pulled off the road into a parking lot and saw that my belt had been ripped to shreds. I sat in my truck for about 5 minutes trying to decide if I should call a tow truck or risk trying to drive home. I risked it and drove home. I was sweating bullets by the time I reached my drive way. It was the tensioner pulley that caused the damage. It was thrashed! I also replaced the idler pulley. I ended up putting on a non a/c belt and bypassed my a/c. I was sick of it constantly engaging and sucking power, and it made an annoying click every time it engaged. I live in the NW, so the a/c is only needed a couple weeks out of the year. Truck is running great now.

This happened yesterday.
Lost the damn drivers side hub lock on the way to work doing 65mph down the highway. Scared the **** out of me, now it seems like the cv shaft is flopping around inside there, as every time I hit a bump in the road I get this huge vibration that doesn't go away until I come to a stop and doesn't start unit a hit a bump. Now I have to try and find one like asap, as this is my DD and I have no choice but to drive it, scares me though as I don't want to destroy anything else and I can't find one.

even though its not a ranger ill pop lol.... its a sport trac
you cant see the a arms very well but theyre boxed and have some nice rebuildable johnny joints. so far im pulling about 8" of travel. hopefully when i do the uniball ucas itll pull a tiny bit more. thats with a 6" coilover. need some taller coils along with some fresh rebuilds on the hydro bumps.
