The "What did you do to your Ranger today" thread

In an effort to not totally stray away from the thread content...
Today I looked at my truck. I also placed a coke can on the headache rack bed rail. The can is still there.
Let's see 'em then!! Twenty-five foot from a flat wall parked perpendicular on a level surface. NO CELL PHONE PICS ALLOWED
You must have gotten the magic set of junk 1 piece projector housings that's aren't complete garbage.
Sorry to say but I don't believe you one bit. Folks apparently don't take that kind of shot of those lamps because of their horrible performance. But I will give some credit : they're better than any plug-n-play drop-in HID setup in the blinding oncoming traffic department.

How about this week? My birthday was last Sunday-I got a new audio system. It took me a few days to do the total install because of UPS and Fedex...So after Wednesday, I decided to re-spray the plasti-dip on my wheels, so I used my new IR impact wrench (also a bday gift) and I figured out the regulator on my compressor gave out so I went and bought a new 200 PSI 15gallon compressor! Then today I am polishing my center caps. Pics are in no particular order.....
EDIT: Will upload pics later...somethings up with the computer I'm on...

Getting more and more sick and tired of the piece of ****. Drove the truck all day, had no issues whats so ever today. Parked it out in front of the house to empty out the garage. Pulled the truck in and got it on jack stands, as I was having a theory my front hubs weren't locking when in 4wd, so I wanted to see if they were. Went to start the truck and put it into 4wd and all of a sudden my 4 hi and 4 lo lights started flashing. Turns out from the time I parked it out front and pulled it into the garage and got it on jack stands. The ----ing electronic transfer case shifter took a **** on me. Took apart the shifter thinking it was something simple and found this.
How often do the magnets break inside the shifters? And what are the chances of me finding a good shifter at the junkyard?
Also another reason I put it up on jack stands was so I could get the diff fluids changed as the rear cover was leaking and the front diff is full of water. Got the rear one finished and it turns out my spider gears and clutches inside the carrier are toast. So Explorer axle swap is coming sooner than later.
Didn't get a chance to do the front diff. What's the easiest way to get the diff out of the truck. I tried to remove the cv axles without taking the lower control arm off. But couldn't get enough room to get them out. Ran out of time and gave up.

Yeah they sell a conversion kit for the manual hubs. But I just really don't want to spend the $250 for it, when I plan to hopefully within the next year have a dana 44 in the front of this thing.

Still waiting...
Then do fail. How they fail, I don't know. Most don't dig in enough to find out...and I've never had one fail(knock on sheet metal). Just buy a new one. They're like $75.
Front axle removal. It's kind of a pain. A real pain by yourself! lol. I'd suggest getting a drill driven pump with some hose and stick it down the fill hole. You'll get most of it out. Fill and pump back out in a couple days or weeks...that'll get the even more of the old gunk out. Fill and call it good.
But when I remove the front axle, remove shocks, upper BJ from knuckle, undo outer CV's, and it'll kinda just wiggle out of there CV's attached. The axle is full of fluid so if the CV's are removed, you potentially have a big mess on your hands(or floor). Putting the axle back in, I like to have the shafts removed to make it alot less cumbersome for install.
There may be better info out there, search around some. It's been some time since I've dropped one.

At $35 after $80 sale price + 25% off + $25 rebate, I figured I'd give it a shot. lol.
Plan for a hot day to do it. I did it the day after a hot day here....12 hours later, first coat isn't even dry yet. Puddles in some areas still.

What I did...
Tape is pulled. Just waiting for it to cure. In the shop now. For what I paid ($35), I'm satisfied. If I didn't get a smoking deal, I wouldn't have done it at all.
