The "What did you do to your Ranger today" thread

THATS CHEAP!
But anywho, this is what i did today, was not to my ranger but FOR my ranger.
This is the truck tent i scored a couple weeks ago for a great price. its kick ***.
I took it out on its maiden voyage using a small twin air mattress i bought from wally world for myself but it was not very comfy. I like my beds (firm) so i hit the drawing board!
THIS is what i came up with :)
This is it all broken down and store. I will be driving with all my other gear in the back like this. notice the center box supports how the all fit together to save space. I have a woodworking background so this was no big deal for me
Now i tested it. its quite hard, i plan on getting some 1" foam for couch arms etc to glue to the top pieces. also wrapping it in some sort of carpet thats cheap to make it a little more "comfy"
also i did a roundover on any edges a hand can come in contact with.
total build coast was about $25 due to using scrap Birch ply pieces for the boxes.
If anyone wants a sketchup model of the top piece let me know i can send it your way!!!

Got the rear leaf spring hangers and shackles off.
And brushed rust converter onto the gas tank skid plate and muffler hanger bracket.
Soldered and heat shrinked a wire that was repaired poorly by a previous owner or previous mechanic. Found the rear taillight/turnsignal/stoplight/reverse light wires are chafed, so I am going to pick up a can of liquid electrical tape tomorrow so that can be fixed right.
Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow. I need to wire brush prep the frame surface under the rear leaf spring hanger mounting location and hit that with rust converter... the stuff takes 48 hours to cure and cannot be painted until it is cured..

Hooked the boat up to it and moved it out of the driveway to make room for the F150 and a trailer that needed some welding done on it. As I was backing the boat in the yard I realized how much the ranger was struggle with it, never noticed it before. Kind of feel bad about it... It's been a good truck gonna miss it.
