I took it to the car wash and got "The Works". Undercarraige, wash and wax...I figured it would be good to get all the salt off and apply some wax to help me get thru the winter months. It may sound nutty, but I've been doing this for years and my 9 year old truck still looks great !! I think it's best to get the salt off before it causes too much damage, so I wash it after every snowfall when they put salt down.

FINALLY after a month and a half of BS... putting the seats in my truck... just wow.
Will get better pictures tomorrow or the weekend. After swapping the seat tracks I am tired.. took me hours. (Had to swap extended cab seat tracks to the standard cab seat tracks, then put them back together)
I have the entire seats in but it got dark so I couldn't snap the completed look... more to come.
Being tall these new seats are soooo much nicer than the shitty bench seats I had where I couldn't rest my head on the headrest...

Replaced the backup light switch and the corresponding harness (had to hit up a j/y for the harness).
Also FINALLY got around to replacing the fusible link wiring. What a load of CRAP that is! Try finding a soldering iron, locally, that will solder 6 ga. wire! It's just tooooo thick. So I tried using a torch with MAP gas.... lol NOT a good idea!
Finally I got sick of trying to solder everything and used the birdcage method. Less than orthodox but it IS an accepted practice and it will also pass inspection so I'm happy.
While I was in there, I decided to clean up the battery box and found this:
Lastly, I decided to replace the bulbs by the license plate, seeing as how the driver side was burned out. Not only was the bulb burned and broken inside the socket, but the socket itself was corroded and falling apart. Grrrrrrr looks like it's back to the j/y tomorrow

Yea the height difference is one of the reasons for getting them.. .Being 6'2" everytime I would put my head back on the stock seat I would bump my head on the window... it was annoying as hell. My wife didn't understand me doing this since this is my daily beater... trying to explain this stuff to women is just a losing battle everytime..lol
Anywho, I will get pictures this morning of the rest of the seats. Looks good! Very pleased with them! Ended up selling my stockers to some locals that made a 2 hr trip just to pick them up so I ended up getting the above seats for about $150...lol Not a bad deal at all when adding stuff together.
So since my gauge cluster was changed to LEDS a while ago and also my HVAC I decided I wanted to carry the theme of the cluster to the HVAC. So we all know that the HVAC ***** are green. I wanted them white.
So I sanded off the little green film that's on the clear plastics pieces in the *****, polished it and now they match the gauge cluster. I love it and it took 10 mins worth of work to change how it looks. It's funny though because I had a spare HVAC and the ***** were solid tranlucent green color... I guess the one I have lucked out because if they weren't clear plasic I couldn't have done this.
Anywho just for reference:
Cluster with pure white 5smd LEDS.
Hvac with 3smd LEDS but with the ***** white.
Just another shot of the HVAC.
I like free mods and the above was free, and changed the look. Now it looks uniform to me.

YAY finally in..lol
Side note see how the driver side "butt" is doign that with the fabric? Is there a way to stop that or make it so it's not bunched up there? I don't know if it's ME or the seat because when I check other people's cars they aren't like that... my STi with aftermarket seats the driver side is the same way so it might be how I am sitting? I don't know. I'm not fat either. 6'2" at about 190lbs.

I slouch back I guess... Ie: move my butt foward in the seat.. and kinda sit back into the seat.. Think low rider but no where near that level...lol I don't sit upright al lthe time, it's more comfy to kinda sit in the chair like a couch if that makes sense..
